Peter Capaldisaid he will begin filming in a couple weeks. It is expected production will begin with the 2016 Christmas special.
Secondly, Mark Gatiss stated he is scripting his ninth episode for since the show returned.
Gatiss confirmed the inevitable in an interview with WhoSFX when quizzed about his first contribution: “It seems so natural now (as I write my ninth episode – ten if you count the un-produced one!) but the forty five minute format took some getting used to.”
Up to this point Gatiss has penned The Unquiet Dead, The Idiot’s Lantern, Victory of the Daleks, Night Terrors, Cold War, The Crimson Horror, Robot of Sherwood, and finally Sleep No More.
Previously Gatiss indicated he may follow Sleep No More with a sequel: “It does have an unhappy ending. Earthshock might be the last time that happened. The Doctor loses … It doesn’t mean they’re going to win eventually. The Doctor knows something’s wrong, so he’s not fooled…and I do have a sequel planned.”
