WARNING: This review contains spoilers for Class episode one.
I'm sorry I'm a bit behind with doing all of this, but class has started, and is well underway in it's first season. Now as you may have known, I was not very fond of the idea of Class. The thought of the idea was just not very pleasing, and wasn't expecting much.
But I think that was good, because as I had my hopes low, I didn't think the series was going to be good. But as a surprise, I actually really loved the first episode of Class. I mean from the trailer, it was obvious it was going to be good, but now I realise it's even better than I was expecting. So then, let's get on to a bit of a proper review.
Peter Capaldi makes an appearance in class as the doctor himself, which I thought was a good touch to the series, but I don't believe it was nessecary. Peter was brilliant as the doctor-but he was just in it as a set up, and I would say that he didn't need to really be in there.
But the reason for this is the cast of class are so brilliant. The young adult stars are just so fantastic as new stars. Charlie, Ram, April and Tanya are all very good characters, and all have something about them which I think are absolutely brilliant. And as well as the four of them, Katherine Kelly as Mrs Quill is a brilliant and kick ass character. So all of the main characters are so brilliant, and they are all fantastic.
This first episode really sets the scene for what is to come, and focuses on a lot of young adult themes. I love the way it really focuses on it's audience, and really makes me want to watch the rest of the series.
So then, the first episode of class is just a brilliant start to what I can imagine is just a great series.
So I would give this episode a thumbs up.
