Doctor Who series 11 is the upcoming season of the hit sci-fi show which introduces a new doctor, showrunner and pretty much everything to the drama. Let's have a look at everything we know so far.
The exact date is unknown for the time being however it is scheduled to be released at some point during October 2018. It is likely that it will be broadcast in the second half of the month. It will be the latest broadcast start to a season since the show returned in 2005.
10 episodes, with the season opener being a feature length 65 minutes, with the others all being at 50 minutes long. It is unconfirmed as of yet whether there shall be a Christmas special and if so, if this shall count in the 10 episode run or shall be counted separately or as part of series 12.
Jodie Whittaker-The Doctor
Mandip Gill-Yasmin Khan
The Thirteenth doctor shall be the first doctor to be portrayed by a female, and shall be joined by three companions, Graham, Yasmin and Ryan. Ryan and Graham's last names are unknown for the time being.
It is rumoured that Graham shall be a police officer while Yasmin and Ryan shall both be in their teens.
Sharon D Clarke shall play Mary and shall make various appearances. It is known that she will make an appearance in episodes 1 and 7 of the series, both directed by Jamie Childs. Mary is Graham's wife, as she confirmed on the radio.
Lee Mack has confirmed he will make a brief appearance in one of the episodes of the series.
Alan Cumming has announced he will play the role of King James I in one episode of the series and that it could possibly be a "recurring" role.
Asha Kingsley is due to play Yasmin's friend Sonia.
Chris Chibnall will be the showrunner of series 11, however it has not been announced which episodes of the series he shall be writing. But it is likely he shall at least pen the opener and finale of the series.
No other writers have been confirmed for the series at this point, however an American style writers room was rumoured.

Here's where things get a bit spoilery so don't go down if you want to avoid some possible spoilers about all of the news, rumours and announcements we have learnt about series 11 and it's episodes.
The first episode of doctor who series 11 introduces Jodie Whittaker and picks off where Twice Upon a Time concluded. Will be released in October 2018, or at least as we have heard.
Will also introduce Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan, Tosin Cole as Ryan and Bradley Walsh as Graham.
The first episode of the Chris Chibnall era of the show and like all of the new who season openers it is scheduled to be written by him too.
Will be directed by Jamie Childs and will be part of block 1, which shall be alongside episode 7.
Sharon D Clarke is set for an appearance as Graham's wife Mary.
Set to be a historical episode which is rumoured to be set during the time of Rosa Parks and the black rights movement. This is further proved by set photos and casting details.
There is no details about who will be playing Rosa Parks, or no confirmed details about casting for this episodes.
No writer has been confirmed for this story as of yet.
It is part of block 2 and shall be directed by Mark Tondarai. Some filming took place in Cape Town and South Africa.
